How To Play
Use the tiles to form words (four letters minimum) - the rarer
the words, the higher your score!
Tiles are generated randomly, with letters appearing with the
same frequency as they do in the English language. So, letters
like ‘E’ and ‘T’ will appear more frequently than ‘Z’ or ‘Q’.
We check whether words are valid using the Free Dictionary API,
which relies on Wiktionary.
Scores are assigned based on a word’s rarity: a word that is
rarer than 99% of words will get a score of 100. An extremely
common word such as ‘that’ will get 0. Word rarity is based on
how frequently a word appears in a large corpus of books
collected by Google - it’s the same one used in Google Ngrams.
When you have formed a word, tap ‘Submit Word’ - if you'd like
to rescind a word, click the 'x' to return the letters to the
grid. Please note you cannot use the same word more than once.
After you’ve submitted as many words as you can, leave the word
box empty and hit ‘Submit Score’. If you manage to use all 20
tiles then you will be awarded an additional 10% points bonus!
Share your daily score with friends and family by hitting the
'Share' button at the bottom of the stats page.
Like with Wordle, you get one set of tiles per day; however, you
can practice without affecting your stats
here.
